Mr Bunny

Sadie has been doing great. Today she went to her bed and got "Chuck" without any prompting and gave him a good shake! last night Sadie met "Mr. Bunny". He belongs to a boy on C's soccer team. They had him hopping about freely and he comes when called (so cute) I was a bit nervous about Sadie wanting to attack, but she really wanted to play. I think she has no clue what a bunny is!

Sadie is just hoping she will get a morsel of egg (she did not, FYI) She likes to sit where ever C is sitting. Not sure if it is because he is always eating or not. We had soccer last night and, of course, she came along. She started to woof at me about 6:00 to inform me that we are late for supper. She rolled in the clipped grass (and bird poop) covering herself in grass clippings and did the same things this morning in the Welborne yard. Right now she is napping on the cool tile floor, snoring away.

Scruffy!

Have you seen a scruffier beast?! She is so funny. She needs a bath and I don't think it can wait until she is groomed on Thursday. At Dr. Simms today, Sadie got some new pills for 10 days as a precaution. He temp is fine, she is perky, all is good.

She had some orange after breakfast and had some apple as an evening snack to tie her over until dinner, which I can give her now. She stares and woofs at me. She was in the studio with me today and I went up to make tea. She made it up to the landing and then barked at me to come get her. when I got to her, she went back down again. she did not want to come up, she wanted me to come back down. What a nut.

Fiesty, Scruffy dog

Sadie was so funny last night. First, she chased Mya down the hall. Then, I had her in bed with me watching a little TV when she spotted her tail. She barked at it. Bacchus barked. Sadie barked at Bacchus. Mya was still hiding. Then, she decided to chase her tail, so spun circles on my bed. So cute.

This morning, C took her out and fed her and about an hour later, I took her out. She squatted several times, which was not typical. I took her temp which looked high until I noticed the thermometer actually has a low battery and was showing it was super low, not high. Will get a new thermometer. she is doing great, but I called to vet just to check. I am going to take a urine sample and go by and get some antibiotics, just in case. No worries. She is in her bed now licking Chuck!

Lazy day

I should have her new hair-do done by the time you return, Mom.

"Chuck", the surviving chipmunk.

It's a day-off for the kids today and it is rainy, so we are having a lazy day. Sadie follows me from room to room. I really think she is waiting fer me to drop food, more than anything. I have been giving her lunch and the odd wee snack if she really seems hungry. I will likely leave her here with AJ when I go pick up Ch and take C to dance since I may stop at your place. I would not want to upset her.

Busy Day

Today Sadie stayed in her crate while I took the boys to school because I was having coffee with Ingrid. The weather has been warm and I did not want to leave her in the van. I was home a while and she came with me to exchange some shoes for C, deliver some food to Ch and pick up the boys. A quick dinner, and she was off with us again for a couple of hours at the soccer field. We met "Jeffrey" the schweener (apparently shttsu and "weener" dog). He was very cute and wanted to play. She was woofing at me at the field as I did not bring any berries this time (shame on me). she follows me around and wants to sit wherever I am sitting, what a sweety.

The Two-some

Aww. Matching bandanas!
Sadie went with me to take A and C to school (Ch is at Queen's this week) and has made herself comfortable in the back of the van on the old Acorn's Journey table cloth during driving time. She scarfed down her breakfast and after this picture was clearly wondering why Bacchus got a bone and all she got was some crummy kibble. She did have some pineapple this a.m. and some apple last night. C has soccer practice tonight and, if it is not raining, she will come along as usual.

Giving me Sass.

woof...

wagg...

I had to go out for a couple of hours this afternoon and it is pretty warm out, so left Sadie at home in her crate for the first time during the day since she has been here. I am at the computer and she is barking at me, giving me sass. I know she wants her dinner, but it is too early for her medicine, so she had to make due with some strawberries and pineapple for a snack. She grumbled at me last night, was playing with "Chuck" the chipmunk (Bacchus chewed up "Robbie", the former raccoon), and barked at the recycle truck. She seems to be doing just fine! last night she came with me to soccer. It started to rain, so she got all muddy even though she sat under another couples' umbrella. I did not have the heart to force her into the tub again, but will likely give her another bath tomorrow or the next day. I am so happy she has settled in and that she seems to be so happy!

Beam Me Up

Ahhh. Sun is shining.

Trying to dry off after the bath.

I'm really not happy you gave me a bath, Andrea!

Sadie is doing better by the day. Still not playful, but barked at me when I came home and venturing down the stairs to come see me when I go down to the studio. Still walking her frequently and "C" has been doing a great job and been taking her in bed with him in the a.m. He usually also has a snack so he has an audience. No treats for her, of course. I did catch her once in the cats dish, but we are being very careful. She had asparagus with us last night. Bacchus is barking and now she is barking too, wagging her tail. So nice to see her perky.

Studio Dog- Soccer Dog

Today Sadie was in the studio with me. After repeated coaxing, she finally made her self at home and had a good afternoon nap. We also managed to make it without any puddles today as I took her out very frequently. Sade also came to the soccer field. She sat quietly, but slowwly walked around saying "Hi" to all. She even rubbed noses with a passing dog and gave a little wag. She ws pretty low-key. We had a picnic of strawberries and water.

Like Glue

We delivered all the boys to school and Sadie watched the last one closely as he disappeared around the side of the building, ears up straight. She enjoyed the open window on the drive home, nose in the air. And she is curled up beside me at my desk. I was sick in bed yesterday and she enjoyed sharing an orange and some pineapple. I am about the head to the studio and will see if she will stay there with me, if not I will put her in her bed for a couple of hours. Update later. Feel weird not talking to Mom this a.m.

Is the honeymoon already over?

I woke at midnight to a sound that could only be either a child with a nightmare, or an alarm of some sort, only to find sweet Sadie howling in her crate in "C"'s room. After moving her to the living room (maybe the noise of c's fan bothers her), she still howled. So, next move to beside my bed so I can tell her to hush should she begin again. Not another peep, thankfully.
This morning, while giving her her medicine, I received a little snap. I think she is feeling right at home now!

It Begins...

Sadie

Her new cuddle spot

Last night Sadie was delivered (a/k/a Sadie Girl, Sade, Sadie O'Grady) by my parents along with all her paraphernalia: medication, bedding, crate, special food, hot pink leash. "princess pillow".

We presented her with a new toy for her stay (Robbie Raccoon) and she was smothered with attention by "C", the designate care-giver for the next three weeks (when not in school).

Today was spent making sure she went out frequently, carried up and down stairs in and out of the studio, cleaning up a puddle (2 actually), and watching her eyes..."feed me", they said!

It's a bit like having a baby. By day end, the house looked a little worse for wear and all the things that I usually pick up and tidy remained strewn about.

Mom, gone a few hours, has already called and checked and apologized for puddles. Hey, not biggie. I am a Mom, you can't scare me. With a face like that, who could scold such a sweetheart.

The big news today: She ate a snail.
